Eric Tuers

Eric is a native to Colorado, with over 30 years of experience in the banking industry. Eric currently leads the Commercial Real Estate Banking group for NBH Bank’s network of markets, individually known as Community Banks of Colorado, Bank Midwest and Hillcrest Bank. Collectively, the team originates and manages banking relationships with investors and developers of investment real estate. Eric’s tenure with NBH Bank dates back to 2011, when the company made its first acquisitions in Colorado. Eric’s initial role with the bank was as Director of Commercial Banking and in 2015. Eric was charged with standing up the NBH Commercial Real Estate Specialty. Prior to his time with NBH, Eric held various positions as a producer and in management, with large community and regional banks, in roles including Commercial Banking, SBA Financing and Special Assets. Throughout his career, Eric has been active in local civic and nonprofit organizations. Eric attended the University of Colorado, majoring in Business Administration and is married with three children.

David Roahrig

David has more than 15 years of credit and relationship management experience working within a wide range of industries and with clients that operate throughout the United States.  His background includes commercial real estate lending, commercial and industrial lending, government/non-profit lending, and other specialty lending (including energy, asset-based and educational).  As the Director of Portfolio Management, David has the responsibility to ensure that the credit management functions of the Commercial Real Estate Team are operating efficiently and effectively.  To accomplish that, he manages a team of professionals who are integral parts of the Team’s client management team while also having direct client management responsibilities of his own.  Previous roles in relationship management and credit approval have given David a unique perspective and helps him to balance the need for credit risk management and client focused solutions.  David studied Management at Colorado Mesa University before completing his studies at the University of Colorado- Denver where he earned an MBA as well as separate Master of Science degrees in Finance and Accounting.

Joe Ballestrasse

Joe has been a Director of Real Estate for NBH for the past 3.5 years and has a long history in the Colorado banking community. Clients range from institutional to individual up and down the Front Range in a variety of product types. Joe has a particular affinity for construction lending, as “it’s fun to see new things get built”, but is happy to work in all areas. Prior to NBH, Joe worked 16 years for First National of Colorado where he ran their Boulder CRE team. Before that, Joe spent time working for Bank America’s construction lending team and prior to that a national syndication developer that specialized in renovating historic properties. Joe has a particular soft spot for Affordable Housing and is a past volunteer with Habitat for Humanity’s “Christmas in October” program. Currently Joe serves on the Board, and is a former Board President, of Thistle Community Housing one of the largest affordable housing provider in Boulder County. Joe originally hails from California and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from UCLA.

Howard Stark

Howard has been Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager with the Commercial Real Estate Group since joining the bank in 2016. His responsibilities include day-to-day portfolio and transaction management as well as underwriting, approval and closing of new loans. Howard is a 13-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry. He joined NBH from commercial real estate brokerage where he worked with commercial real estate investors up and down the Front Range of Colorado. Howard is a Marine Corp Veteran and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Auburn University and a MBA from the University of Georgia.

Kevin has been a Vice President of NBH Commercial Real Estate since joining the bank in 2018. His clients include real estate investors, commercial construction companies, and production home builders.  Kevin has spent 16 years in Commercial Banking and Special Assets. He joined NBH from Wells Fargo where he was a senior underwriter and taught credit in the new hire program.  Kevin is an active volunteer in local nonprofit organizations. He holds a dual Bachelor degree in Finance and Economics and a Master’s of Science in Finance from Texas Tech University.

Lisa is a Specialist in the Commercial Real Estate department, having joined the bank in 2018.  Lisa spent the last 10 years with First National Bank as the Loan Operations Manager working with commercial and consumer clients managing the loan process from approval through post-closing.  Prior experience includes; compliance analyst for a mortgage company, operations manager for an indirect lending company and member service rep/lender for a credit union.  Lisa has a Bachelor of Science from Colorado State University.

Lisa is a Commercial Real Estate Specialist for Community Banks of Colorado where she supports the CRE team working in the back office gathering information and preparing for loan closings from start to finish. This includes post-closing duties and ongoing maintenance of client loans and deposit accounts. Lisa has been in the financial industry over 25 years and in that time frame, has served in many different roles. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors and photography.
