Donald McG. Woods - Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer Donald Woods is currently Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of Community Bankshares, Inc. He is a founding shareholder of Community Bankshares, Inc. and has served as President/CEO and director since 1989. Community Bankshares, Inc. currently operates 38 banking locations throughout Colorado, primarily in the southern half of the state, and five in California. Mr. Woods spent five years with the Northern Trust Co., Chicago, Illinois and four years with Drexel, Burnham, Lambert in London, England, where he served as Vice President and International Treasury Manager. He received his undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Denver in 1980 and a Masters degree in International Business and Economics from the City University in London, England in 1985. Mr. Woods is active in endorsing the efforts of The Nature Conservancy and is also a member of the Young President's Organization. He serves on numerous boards including The Nature Conservancy and the Boettcher Foundation.
John D. Woods, Sr. – Director
Mr. Woods is a founding shareholder of Community Bankshares, Inc. and served as Chairman of the Board since its incorporation in February 1989 until April 2006. He spent 40 years in the banking industry, starting at the Northern Trust Co., Chicago, Illinois in 1956. During the course of his career, he has served as President and COO of Winters National Bank, Dayton, Ohio (a $2.5 billion bank now part of Bank One, Columbus, Ohio), Chairman and CEO of Omaha National Bank and its successor, FirstTier Financial, Inc. (a $4.7 billion banking organization now part of US Bank, Minneapolis, Minnesota). Mr. Woods received his B.A. degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado.
Robert B. Womsley – Secretary and Director Mr. Womsley is a founding shareholder of Community Bankshares, Inc. and has served as Secretary and a director of Community Bankshares, Inc. since its incorporation in February 1989. He retired as the senior partner in the law firm of Coolidge, Wall, Womsley & Lombard in Dayton, Ohio. His practice concentrated on corporate and financial institution matters. Mr. Womsley received his B.A. degree from Brown University in 1955 and his L.L.B. degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1958. David H. Runyon – Director Mr. Runyon has served as a director of Community Bankshares, Inc. since 1994. He has had a 25-year career in banking, having served in many capacities in the industry as both President and CEO. He currently serves as a Board member and principal in various enterprises including the Chairman of Atlantis Submarines, Hawaii, Inc., Honolulu, Hawaii. In addition, Mr. Runyon currently serves on the board of Charter Properties, Inc., Dallas, Texas and Hill Floral Group, Richmond, Indiana. Mr. Runyon received his B.A. degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Jeff Johnson – Director Mr. Johnson is a co-founder and Managing Director of MBH Enterprises, Inc., a holding company that manages several subsidiary businesses focused principally in the service industries. Prior to forming MBH, Mr. Johnson was co-founder and CEO of BELFOR USA Group, Inc., a full service contractor and disaster recovery firm operating throughout North America. Mr. Johnson identified the disaster recovery business as a fragmented $3 billion dollar market. As founder and CEO, Mr. Johnson led a team of 20 that grew to more than 1,800 team members responsible for the service development and delivery, organic growth, and acquisition in the Disaster Recovery and Reconstruction market. The business rapidly grew from one location to over 53 locations in North America. BELFOR USA is currently the market leader in insurance related disaster recovery and reconstruction producing annual revenue in excess of $400 million. Late in 2002, Mr. Johnson left the board and leadership of BELFOR USA. Mr. Johnson is an active personal investor and serves on the board of many companies. He also spends many hours each year serving the community through his positions on the Colorado Uplift Board of Directors, Chairman of the Colorado Uplift Leadership Council, Membership Director of the Colorado Chapter of YPO Board of Directors, and YMCA Basketball and Baseball Coach. He holds a B.A. from the University of Colorado and has attended many executive leadership courses in the United States and Europe.
