Community Bankshares, Inc., and its affiliates, Community Banks of Colorado and  Community Banks of Northern California are committed to protecting your privacy. As a financial institution we know that your trust in us is of major importance and we value your confidence. This notice discloses our policies and privacy practices regarding information obtained about our customers that purchase financial products or services from us. Please read it to learn more about the steps we take to protect the confidential information that you provide.

The policy applies to all lending and depository institutions within Community Bankshares, Inc. if we change our information practices, we promise to provide you notice.

Community Bankshares, Inc. takes your right to privacy very seriously and has established security standards and procedures to safeguard customer information. These standards exist for both our physical facilities and our online services. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard customer information. We restrict access to your personal information to only those employees who need to know that information in order to provide you with our quality products and services. We educate our employees about the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy.

Information Collecting
In the course of delivering products and services that meet your needs, we collect various types of information. We collect information about you in order to:

• Service and administer your records, accounts and funds
• Help us design or improve our products or services
• Save you time when you apply for new products
• Understand and assist with your financial needs
• Or to comply with certain laws and regulations

 

We collect "non-public" personal information about you from the following sources:

• Applications and bank forms that you provide to us,
• Information about your transactions with Community Bankshares, Inc. and its affiliates,
• Information we receive from consumer credit reporting agencies
• Or public sources such as federal, state or local records

Non-public personal information does not include information that is available from public sources, such as telephone directories or government records.

Information Sharing
Since we value our customer relationship with you, we do not disclose any non-public personal information about you to any non-affiliated third parties, except as authorized by law. We are permitted under law to share information about our experiences or transactions with you or your account (such as account balance and your payment history with us) with our affiliates. In addition, we may disclose information to companies that provide products and services necessary to effect, administer or enforce a transaction that a customer requests or authorizes, such as:

• Information we receive from you on an application or other forms; name, address, social security number, assets, and income
• Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, such as your account balance, payment history, parties to transactions, and credit card usage
• Information we receive from a consumer-reporting agency, such as your creditworthiness and credit history

If you decide to end your relationship with us or become an inactive customer, we will continue to adhere to the privacy policies and practices described in this notice.
