Community Investments

Sustainable Community Development

Our friends at Marabou Ranch are developing a unique community outside of Steamboat Springs. Special care in the placement of homesites preserves the delicate ecosystem. Residents are able to appreciate and participate in the ongoing efforts of maintaining this spectacular working ranch.

Investing in Future Leaders

Our leadership development program is much more than a college scholarship. Beginning with a select group of state colleges we're developing a challenging leadership curriculum. Our program will include mentorships, internships, Outward Bound programs, and various community service projects designed to develop well rounded community leaders. The return on investment may be years away, but we believe this is one of the best things we can do to help secure the future of our communities.

Green Housing Innovation

Essential Housing, also known as Affordable Housing is a critical issue in our communities. Innovative housing solutions that focus on creating neighborhoods; housing that uses recycled materials; housing that is energy efficient; and innovative financing. There are some very interesting developments in housing that are worth watching.

"We look at our Communities with a 'hundred year's from now' perspective.  Communities that are prosperous over time nurture and cultivate three things; the social quality, the economic quality, and the environmental quality of their communities. We compare this idea to three legs of a stool. Each leg is equally important, otherwise, the stool will fail. As a result of this conviction, we intend to invest in those people, organizations, businesses and entrepreneurs who are working hard to improve the quality of the lifestyles in our communities now, and for the foreseeable future."
